We can’t say this enough: scams are everywhere and they’re getting sneakier by the day. Whether it's by phone, email, or a fake pop up, there's a scam targeted at everyone. Here are some that we see regularly:

  • Fake Tech Support Scam - Microsoft or Apple reaching out saying it's urgent and you must contact them immediately!! Microsoft or Apple will NEVER reach out to you personally saying your computer is in danger.

  • Fake "package couldn’t be delivered" scam: This one appears in a text or an email saying that your FedEx, UPS, or USPS package couldn’t be delivered and asks you to click some link to reschedule. This one can happen all year round but you will see a surge during the upcoming holiday season.

  • The Celebrity Scam: This scam mixes with the dark side of artificial intelligence. You'll be sent an AI-generated video of a celebrity like Elon Musk saying "Hello Joseph! This is Elon Musk and I am giving you a free Tesla Model Y. All you have to do is give me $500 and I’ll have someone bring you your car immediately!" AI can be hard to spot to an untrained eye; however, if it's too good to be true then it likely is fake.

Unfortunately, no age group is safe from these immoral people. If you have questions about the legitimacy of a message please reach out to Ben or me so we can review it with you at no cost. Our passion is educating users to be safer online and we are here to help.
