Windows Update Failure

If you are running Windows 10 and periodically check your Windows Update history, you may have seen a persistent error for a particular update labeled “KB5034441”.  This update addresses a vulnerability in the BitLocker encryption feature which requires a hacker to have physical access to your computer (think someone stealing your corporate laptop). Without getting too technical, the update fails if there isn’t enough storage space on a particular part of your hard drive. Even though the update was released almost two months ago there hasn’t been a fix from Microsoft on the failure error. The good news is that this only affects Windows 10 users with BitLocker enabled, and the update failing doesn’t cause any negative performance effects. If you are seeing issues related to this particular update error, reach out and we’d be happy to discuss.
