Clean Up Compromised Passwords

We can't stress it enough: password hygiene is one of the most important things we can do to protect ourselves against hackers who have ill intentions with our hard-earned money. If you are like the old me, you use the same password for everything as a convenience, but it’s the equivalent of hitting the lottery to a hacker. All it takes is to gain access to one account and now everything is compromised. Both Chrome and Edge have password managers with a feature that will tell you if any of your passwords have been compromised in a data breach. If that happens, I like to use an online password generator from LastPass or 1Password to replace the compromised one. To check for compromised accounts in Chrome, the steps are as follows: vertical 3 dots in top right > Passwords and autofill > Google Password Manager > on the left side press Checkup. On Edge the steps look like this: 3 dots in the top right > Passwords > Password check in the center > lastly, change the filter to leaked. By doing this you can tell what accounts need to be changed, especially if you were once like me using the same password for everything.

Password protection, Password Hygenine.
