Microsoft recently announced that they will end support for Publisher in October 2026. This graphics design program has been around since 1991 but has typically been included only on the higher-end “small business” or “pro” versions of Office and therefore never really had widespread adoption. It certainly has (had?) a niche audience, though, and they will be left high and dry in about two and a half years. I can remember designing print newsletters for my college fraternity but I don’t think I’ve used it since. I’m sure Microsoft will have more details as that far off date approaches, but if you are a regular user of Publisher you should begin to look for alternatives.
