Fake Chrome Errors

A new kind of malware is pretending to show an error message within Chrome and prompts you to download an update. This is not a legitimate update package and will just install a virus on your computer! The normal way to update Chrome is far simpler: just close and reopen Chrome. Any pending updates will be installed automatically. If you want to confirm Chrome is up-to-date, click the three-dot menu button in the top right corner, then Help, then About Google Chrome. You will either see the message “Chrome is up to date” or an “Updating Chrome” message. If you see any other message please contact us for assistance.
