Password Health Checkup

If you’re looking for something else to add to your New Year’s resolution list, consider giving your passwords a “health checkup”. Spend some time compiling them in one place and then testing them to be sure they work. If they don’t, reset them. If you reuse passwords, take the time to create new, unique passwords. And while logged in, make sure your recovery email address and/or phone number is current (this is particularly important for email accounts). You should also enable Multi-Factor Authentication for all services that offer it. This is the technology that texts a code to your phone for an additional layer of security and is incredibly helpful in keeping the bad guys out. This type of digital maintenance is about as much fun as a root canal but can come in very handy in the future.
