Heads up for all our Texas-based readers: tomorrow, April 2nd, will be a statewide day of testing public warning systems.  If you live in an area that has an existing public warning system (such as Georgetown), expect to receive multiple texts, emails, and phone calls from various jurisdictions. These tests will help the agencies responsible for alerting us during a real emergency confirm the functionality of their systems. You can read the official press release here, and if you live in Central Texas you can sign up to manage how you receive emergency alerts through WarnCentralTexas.org.
