May’s newsletter reminded everyone of the end of Internet Explorer on June 15th. For most users, this alert could be ignored as we have been using more modern browsers like Chrome and Edge for years. But there is one subset of users that should take note: QuickBooks Desktop users. This program has used Internet Explorer as its built-in browser for a long time, even after plenty of heads-up from Microsoft that support will end this year. QuickBooks finally released an update to their Desktop product series five days before the deadline – but only for their currently supported versions: 2020, 2021, and 2022. If you are using one of these versions, simply confirm that they are up-to-date (Help menu > Update Quickbooks Desktop). But if you are using QuickBooks Desktop 2019 or older, be aware that you are using unsupported software that is no longer receiving security patches.
