The future is here! Tesla debuted their long awaited self driving taxi service in Austin this past Sunday on June 22nd. Tesla’s Robotaxis have been in "beta" with a human safety monitor in the front passenger seat for some time now. But now it has no human safety monitor and relies on the data it previously collected in order for its AI-powered cars to bring customers from point A to B. Its AI is also designed to avoid potentially dangerous and complex intersections, opting for more safer routes. The NHTSA is actively reviewing how safe these robotaxis actually are. As of right now rides cost a flat fare of $4.20. Would you choose to ride in one of Tesla’s taxis? And if you have please let us know about your experience!
A robot with headphones drives a yellow taxi holding a laptop displaying a map, set against a city skyline with a cheerful vibe.
