Last week Microsoft announced official details and pricing on extended support options for Windows 10. If you’re a business you can have support extended for up to three years, with the first year costing $61 and doubling each year after that. For residential users the cost is $30 for one year of added support (the implication being that no paid residential support will be provided after October 2026). This latest announcement from Microsoft adds two ways consumers can get the extended support for free, but with a catch of course. Option one is to redeem 1,000 "Microsoft Rewards" points. How do you earn points? By buying items on the Microsoft Store or Xbox Store and doing searches on Bing.com. The second option is to utilize OneDrive to sync your PC files and settings. The ability to sign-up for the Extended Security Updates program will begin to roll out later this month and into August.  But if you'd rather not deal with that and are in the market for buying a computer that comes with Windows 11, feel free to reach out. We'd love to give you some recommendations!
